Sowing Seeds

It seems fitting that the first week of work for Oracle finds us planting new seeds for a greener future. Like any project or business, the end result is only as good as its foundation. This week, we are renovating the grounds at a private cemetery in Jamestown, RI. This includes amending the soil, aerating, raking and finally adding seed & fertilizer in order to enhance the grounds.

Some landscapers might just dethatch and throw seed down hoping some of it will germinate, but I have developed a system to ensure a green lawn. The success is in the details and going in hard-to-reach areas by hand.

The project will continue through the week, as there is a large area to cover. We should have some pictures of the project coming soon. If you're interested in an appointment, I'd be happy to come and discuss your next project.

A New Start

Oracle is born!

Blades of grass have always been important to me. In botany, an auricle is a small ear-like projection from the base of a leaf or petal. From there, I thought of the word oracle as a possible company name and in reading the definition the whole concept seemed to be very fitting.

"The word oracle comes from the Latin verb ōrāre "to speak" and properly refers to the priest or priestess uttering the prediction. In extended use, oracle may also refer to the site of the oracle, and to the oracular utterances themselves, called khrēsmoi (χρησμοί) in Greek. Oracles were thought to be portals through which the gods spoke directly to people." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oracle)

Over the years, I have developed a certain set of skills that enable me to design and build landscape projects that unite a property and create spaces for living. I enjoy the challenge of a difficult design or fitting a project into small spaces to create something special. After years of experience studying agronomy and practical experience, I can take this knowledge to the field to help reestablish lawns and pasture fields.

I am excited for all the opportunities ahead and to work with future and past clients to help design, build and enhance their living spaces.

Praise the lawn!
